Growing up, my family lived with my maternal grandparents. When my sister and I were home from school during the summers and my parents were working, her and I would be tagging along with Nana and Grampie going about their daily lives. One of their favorite places to take us…

In the fall of 2024, Jarrett and I had a lot of free weekends (which never seems to happen!) so we were able to check a lot of hikes off our list! One of those was Hedgehog Mountain, which is on New Hampshire’s 52 With A View list. We both loved the hike.

Our original plan was to hike to the Moxie Bald North, however, we were running short on time so we opted for Moxie Bald South, which was a little shorter .

Cannon Mountain is one of New Hampshire’s 48 4,000 footers. It’s also a popular ski resort in the winter, but in the summer, people can use the gondolas to take scenic rides up the mountain.

I had seen videos of Saco Heath Preserve floating around online and it quickly made its way to my “To Do” list. It’s made up mostly of a beautiful, colorful boardwalk with some areas of packed dirt.

The Cedar Swamp Preserve in Manchester, New Hampshire has a beautiful all-accessible trail through a small wooded area of the city. There is only about 2 miles of trails, however, the All Persons Trail is wide, flat and well maintained. It’s the perfect trail for those starting out with hiking, families with children or those…

Mount Kearsarge is a very popular summit in Winslow State Park in Wilmot, New Hampshire. I had heard great things about the hike but hadn’t done it myself yet, so on a September day in 2023, Jarrett and I decided to see what the hype was all about.

The Wantastiquet Natural Area is in New Hampshire, but it’s right across the river from Vermont. It’s an out and back hike and can be found on AllTrails. This was a pleasant hike up an old quarry road that winds through the forest.

Mt. Eisenhower is one of New Hampshire’s infamous 48 4,000 footers. It’s part of the Presidential range and sits close to Mt. Washington. This is a fairly challenging hike that’s just shy of 7 miles long with an elevation gain of almost 2,800 feet.

I had fun putting together my other post about my top ten favorite national park hikes so I thought I’d do a similar list but of my favorite hikes not found in National parks. These are in no particular order, and again, they will probably change over time as I do more!
