Mount Kearsarge is a very popular summit in Winslow State Park in Wilmot, New Hampshire. I had heard great things about the hike but hadn’t done it myself yet, so on a September day in 2023, Jarrett and I decided to see what the hype was all about.

The Wantastiquet Natural Area is in New Hampshire, but it’s right across the river from Vermont. It’s an out and back hike and can be found on AllTrails. This was a pleasant hike up an old quarry road that winds through the forest.

Mt. Eisenhower is one of New Hampshire’s infamous 48 4,000 footers. It’s part of the Presidential range and sits close to Mt. Washington. This is a fairly challenging hike that’s just shy of 7 miles long with an elevation gain of almost 2,800 feet.

While I prefer to be in nature when traveling, I do like exploring cities too! In 2018 Jarrett and I went to Chicago for a long week, primarily to cheer on our friend Colleen running the Chicago Marathon. In October 2023, she ran the Chicago Marathon for the 2nd time. Since we had enjoyed our…

The Welch-Dickey Loop is arguably one of the most popular hikes in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I had heard a lot about this hike but hadn’t done it until this past summer. If you like STEEP rocky slabs with beautiful views, then this is a great trail for you!

The summer is always jam packed with different trips and activities but one constant is the girls getaway to Martha’s Vineyard. We always start early in the morning, leaving my house at 3:30 a.m. to make sure we make our 6 a.m. ferry on time. Normally the drive is uneventful and easy, however, this year…

Franconia Ridge is a well-known hiker destination in New Hampshire which connects 4 of the 48 4,000 footers – Flume, Liberty, Lincoln and Lafayette. We didn’t hit Flume or Liberty but we could see them down the ridge. The hike across the ridge was incredible. I felt like I was on top of the world!

June was an emotional month for me. I was obviously feeling raw after Jarrett and I had to put Carter down, and the weeks leading up to that were heartbreaking as well. Unfortunately, June was also the busiest month of the summer for me. A few days after we said goodbye to Carter, I had…
