Hi! I’m Susan, but my friends call me Suze
I grew up in a sleepy little town in Central Maine. Growing up, the furthest I ever traveled was New York to visit family. When it came time for me to go to college, I knew I wanted to travel out of state but I didn’t want to go far, which is how I ended up in New Hampshire, where I met my partner Jarrett. We were friends for a few years but have now been together for fifteen years!
The first trip Jarrett and I took together was a road trip in 2012 to North Carolina’s Outer Banks with his family. The same year, I got on my first flight – a trip to Miami, Florida with some girlfriends. Since then, the travels have only increased! From long weekends away to road trips to National parks, there is always something to look forward to.
I always loved and appreciated nature but it never called to me as strongly as it did when I reached my 30s. The hiking bug didn’t really hit me until this time either. While Jarrett and I visited our first National Park together in 2013, at the time we had no idea that we’d end up wanting to visit them all.
Another passion of mine has always been photography and while I was never using the best cameras (disposable cameras as a kid, point and shoot digital cameras in college, cell phone only for years), I always loved taking pictures. I finally invested in a good camera in 2023 and took a photography class. I’ve loved capturing the beautiful views during our travels, hikes and adventures and sharing them on here on my blog and on my Instagram page.
While I would love to be traveling and running around in the woods all the time, I do work a full time job in the insurance industry. Some other interests I have are reading, spending time with our dogs Tahoe, going to concerts and running.
