Growing up, my family lived with my maternal grandparents. When my sister and I were home from school during the summers and my parents were working, her and I would be tagging along with Nana and Grampie going about their daily lives. One of their favorite places to take us was Moxie Falls in The Forks, Maine. The falls are 90 feet tall and are Maine’s tallest single drop waterfall!

Years and years later, I kept seeing Moxie Falls pop up on my Instagram feed and I realized that I needed to go back to see it as an adult. After a few failed plans, Jarrett and I were finally able to go on our way home from visiting my mom, who lives about an hour away. I was so excited to finally visit again. You can find the trail on AllTrails. It was wide and well-maintained. It was a beautiful fall day and we were treated to lots of foliage. This would be a great place to go with kids or people who may not be able to hike longer, harder trails.

While this is pretty far out of the way of big cities, there are a lot of fun places for recreation nearby. Lots of hiking, white water rafting and more. It’s worth the vist. On the drive, keep an eye out for the Million Dollar Birdhouse Wall!
