The Cedar Swamp Preserve in Manchester, New Hampshire has a beautiful all-accessible trail through a small wooded area of the city. There is only about 2 miles of trails, however, the All Persons Trail is wide, flat and well maintained. It’s the perfect trail for those starting out with hiking, families with children or those with limited mobility. You can find a trail map on AllTrails.

It’s a fantastic spot for birdwatching. There are also a lot of informative signs along the trail to tell you about the history of the land and the variety of flowers, trees and birds you may see there as well. While this an easy, short hike, it’s such a great way to escape the city and get into nature. I had a great time practicing photography there and I’d love to go back again.

🥾Approx. 1.1 miles round trip
⛰️Approx. elevation gain 82 ft.
🌲Easy (depends on fitness level)
💰Free!
🦮 No dogs allowed
🚽 Porta-potty available

This is your reminder that not every “hike” has to be difficult! Even an easy stroll in the woods can be called a hike 🙂
📍I acknowledge the lands mentioned in this post are the ancestral lands of the Wabanaki (Dawnland Confederacy), Pennacook and N’dakina (Abenaki / Abénaquis) people.
