Flume Gorge Trail – New Hampshire

I had done this hike as a child when my family visited the area for vacation but I got to revisit it in 2021. I did this hike in late September with one of my best friends, Tanya, and her two little girls (2.5 and 4 years old at the time). The girls did great and were able to walk the whole trail. It’s about 2 miles round trip but the trails are well-maintained and there are also lots of wooden boardwalks so the terrain isn’t too difficult.

Besides the waterfall, there are other fun features on the trail like caves, a covered bridge and glacial boulders. The cave called the Wolf Den was cool – if you were brave enough, you could climb all the way through. I didn’t, I was nervous I’d get stuck, but I did see an older man go through with no issues.

At the trailhead there are restrooms and a nice gift shop. There was also plenty of parking. If you’re vacationing in the area, this would be a nice place to check out or even as day trip for anyone living in New Hampshire.
